Dr. Ian Billinghurst is a globally recognized nutritionist, veterinary surgeon, and author with over 50 years of experience and 2,000 clients served worldwide. A pioneer of the raw pet food movement, he graduated as an agronomist and nutritionist (B.Sc.Agr., 1966) and veterinary surgeon (B.V.Sc.Hons, 1976) from Sydney University. His influential book, Give Your Dog a Bone (1993), introduced Evolutionary Nutrition and the BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet, shaping the pet food industry. With expertise in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, he has authored four books, lectured internationally, and produced “Dr B’s Genuine Aussie R.A.W.” pet foods. Dr. Billinghurst serves as Senior Advisor and Master Formulator for Gussy’s Gut (www.gussysgut.com) and offers a certification course for pet parents and professionals on raw feeding through the Billinghurst Institute (www.billinghurst.institute). Now retired from practice, he continues consulting and researching nutrition’s impact on health, including cancer prevention.
